Drafting a boat neckline for knits

Our ‘cut & sew’ knit series teaches how to create several different types of knit necklines. One of the most popular is the boat neckline. This lesson will teach you how to draft two variations of the boat neckline: one planned with a clean finish neckline, armhole and hem and the other for a fold-over neckline, armhole and hem finish. You will learn how to read a fashion sketch to determine the width of the desired shoulder, the body length and the front and back neckline drop. You will also learn valuable sewing tips on how to keep the neckline from stretching as you sew.
