Inside Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni’s legal settlement: Why experts call it ‘smart move’

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle ended with a settlement. As per People magazine, the It Ends With Us actors reached a settlement on Monday, May 4, after 18 months of a nasty legal battle.

However, the terms of the agreements were not made public.

In a joint statement on Monday, Blake and Justin‘s attorneys said: “The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.”

“We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms Lively deserved to be heard,” read the joint statement. “We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.”

PR experts have praised Blake and Justin’s decision to settle, noting it as a smart move to end their legal battle.

“Settling was a smart move at this point,” crisis management PR expert Gary Rosen said.

“I think it should have ended long ago,” he continued. “But at this point, I think it’s the smartest move available.”

“It certainly didn’t help either one of their careers. And it got so messy,” Gary added. “These were high-priced lawyers, so the ones who benefited were them.”

For those unversed, the dispute between Blake and Justin began in December 2024 after the Another Simple Favor actress filed a sexual-harassment complaint against the Con Man actor.

The trial on the case was scheduled to begin on May 18.
