If you’ve been trying to decide between ZIIP Halo 2.0 vs NuFACE Mini+ and NuFace Trinity+ range, you’re asking the right question, because these are two of the most talked-about at-home microcurrent devices on the market right now and they are not the same thing, despite what a lot of comparison articles will have you believe. I’ve used both as part of my regular skincare routine, tested them alongside other clinical-grade devices including Solawave, and had one-on-one training with ZIIP Halo founder Melanie Simon. So this isn’t a side-by-side spec sheet, it’s real experience with both devices in one place. The technology difference between them is bigger than most people realize, and it genuinely changes who each device is right for. There’s also a significant price difference to consider, and whether that gap is justified is something I can answer from experience rather than guesswork. By the end of this you’ll know exactly which one suits your skin, your routine and your budget, which I think is the best microcurrent device 2026, and if you already own one of them, whether it’s worth switching.

I’ve been using ZIIP devices for over two years and have had one-on-one training with ZIIP Halo founder Melanie Simon which means everything in this comparison comes directly from the source. Alongside my hands-on testing experience, I bring professional beauty formulation training through my own cosmetics line, Dawes Custom Cosmetics, which informs how I analyze ingredients and clinical claims in every product I review. I’ve tested both ZIIP Halo 2.0 and NuFACE as part of a broader skincare device routine that also includes the CurrentBody LED mask and Solawave, so my comparison reflects real-world use rather than a single isolated test. This post contains affiliate links which do not affect my opinion or the price.

What is ZIIP Halo 2.0 and how does it work?

The ZIIP HALO is an at-home microcurrent and nanocurrent device designed to tone, lift, firm, even out skin tone, help with breakouts, and boost collagen. It’s the beauty device that works the hardest in my home and spoiler alert, that I think is the best microcurrent device 2026. It works by delivering, tailored electrical currents, depending on the treatment you use, that stimulate facial muscles and boost cellular repair. I love that it gives both immediate lifting and long-term results. Which is why ZIIP Halo 2.0 is my favorite at-home beauty device of all time.

What is NuFACE and how does it work?

NuFace mini facial toning device is the microcurrent device I started with and I loved it for a quick and easy 5 minute facelift. Like the ZIIP Halo, it uses microcurrent to sculpt, lift and contour and I definitely saw results with it. However, it doesn’t have nanocurrent or customizable treatments like ZIIP does. The Mini is more budget friendly than NuFace Trinity+ but doesn’t have interchangeable attachments.

The key difference: microcurrent vs microcurrent and Nanocurrent™

ZIIP’s dual-waveform is the single biggest differentiator. Nanocurrent™ does things that microcurrent alone can’t, especially for long term benefits and results. While microcurrent primarily exercises facial muscles for lifting, nanocurrent works deeper at a cellular level to increase ATP (cellular energy), collagen and elastin production. I love the immediate results from the microcurrent, but what I’ve noticed the most over the 2 years of using my ZIIP Halo is the improvement in overall tone and texture, dubbed the ‘HALO EFFECT’.

ZIIP Nanocurrent™ facilitates skin repair for a healthy, rejuvenated appearance. It achieves this by safely targeting the skin cells and tissues to generate heat, stimulating the skin’s natural production of collagen. ZIIP

Think of using Microcurrent to slow down the visible signs of aging and ZIIP Nanocurrent™ to repair and rejuvenate the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and making it tighter and firmer. Which makes it a superior anti-aging beauty device.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 vs NuFACE: technology and treatments compared

ZIIP Halo offers 17 app treatments which range from The Everything Facial (which is my favorite) to more targeted treatments like Skin Barrier Repair, Sculpt, Neck, Lips, Heal, Pimples, etc. I love that I can customize my treatment each day based on what my skin needs that day.

Whereas NuFACE Mini+ only has 3 treatments, and the NuFace Trinity+ has 3 modes, Plus 2 optional attachments (for an extra cost). One for the lips and eyes and a red light attachment.

I appreciate that ZIIP is an all-in-one device which makes it easier to use and travel with vs an attachment system. Although ZIIP doesn’t offer red light, I follow with my CurrentBody LED mask anyway.

Design and ease of use: which is easier to use day to day?

ZIIP Halo: At 68g and roughly 1.14″ x 1.96″ x 3.9″, this is the lightest and smallest device, making it easy to fit into your palm and use. Because of the treatment plans in the ZIIP App e.g. ’30 Day Best Skin of Your Life’, I found this the easiest to get into the habit of using. The conductive gel also doesn’t dry out during your treatment like the NuFace gel does.

    NuFACE Mini+: Weight: ~142g (5 oz). Dimensions: ~4.2″ L x 2.5″ W x 1.2″ D. Smaller than the Trinity+ but bigger than ZIIP Halo.

NuFACE Trinity+: Weight 249g. Dimensions: with the Facial Trainer attachment is approximately 5.41 x 5.16 x 9.02″. I haven’t tried this one personally but fact-wise it is the bulkiest and heaviest to use.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 vs NuFACE results: what I actually noticed

You need to be consistent with both of these at-home microcurrent devices. I saw results with both, but they weren’t the same.

With the NuFace Mini I saw results after 60 days, just not as noticeably as with my ZIIP. The most noticeable differences were improvement in the appearance of my crow’s feet, and more contoured cheek bones and jaw line. However, I didn’t notice a difference in discoloration or having a more even skin tone.

nuface results before afternuface results before after

The ZIIP Halo, I noticed my fine lines and wrinkles were looking softer after 30 days, my eyelids looks more lifted, and my face looked more sculpted, especially my cheekbones and jaw. After 2 years, my skin tone is more even, my sun spots aren’t as dark, my face is more sculpted and lifted and even the texture on my neck is better.

One side of my face treated only (you can see how much more sculpted and lifted that one side is)

ZIIP Halo 2.0 is $399.99 all-in, including a travel case and 3 travel-size gels. Plus you get 10% off with my code EVAD which brings it down to $359.99. It’s my top pick for the best microcurrent device 2026 as it’s the one I saw the most noticeable results from.

NuFACE Mini+ Starter Kit – Smart Petite Microcurrent Facial Toning Kit is $250.

NuFACE Trinity+: $395 base but attachments add cost.

Also, factor in the cost of gels. NuFace Activators range from $35-100 but I got through mine fast as they dry out drying use. ZIIP gels range from $29.99-$129.99 but don’t dry out during use. ZIIP also has more choice of gels depending on your skincare needs to maximize your results.

So is the $109 price difference between the ZIIP Halo and NuFace Mini+ worth it? Both have impressive clinical trial results, however, if you’re over 30, I definitely think so, because of the nanocurrent encouraging collagen aspect. I also saw much better results because of it’s dual wavelengths and different treatments. The NuFace Mini+ just lifts, tightens and tones VS ZIIP Halo doing that plus these clinically proven results:

    • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by 28%
    • Boosts plumpness and firmness by 27%
    • Reduces the appearance of spots by 44%
    • Improves skin tone by 13%

Who should buy ZIIP Halo 2.0 and who should buy NuFACE? NuFACE Trinity vs ZIIP Halo

Buy ZIIP if you want a beauty device that does it all: anti-aging, problem skin, skin health and skin prep. Buy NuFACE Mini or Trinity if you just want to lift, tighten and tone.

My verdict: which microcurrent device do I recommend?

I personally recommend ZIIP Halo over NuFace for all of the reasons I mentioned above from the tech, to the benefits, and the results I’ve seen. NuFACE is great at doing what it says it’s going to do, I just find the benefits and treatments very limited. ZIIP wins for me on technology and treatment variety, while NuFACE Mini wins on price and simplicity.

Best microcurrent device 2026: ZIIP Halo 2.0

ZIIP Halo 2.0 vs NuFACE frequently asked questions

Can you use ZIIP and NuFACE together?

It’s not recommended to use both in the same session and you don’t need both. ZIIP covers everything NuFACE does and more due to Nanocurrent™.

Is NuFACE or ZIIP better for beginners?

I think they’re both easy for beginners, as they both have built in treatments you can just turn on and go with and that turn off automatically without using the app. However, I prefer that ZIIP has more guided treatment options in the app, so even those are simple to follow along with.

Which microcurrent device gives faster results – ZIIP or NuFACE?

Both are good for an immediate lift but for long-term cumulative results, ZIIP dual waveform has the edge in my opinion.

Is ZIIP Halo 2.0 worth the price compared to NuFACE?

ZIIP Halo ends up much cheaper than NuFace Trinity+ as that adds up if you buy the attachments.

Which is better for sensitive skin – ZIIP or NuFACE?

ZIIP’s Nanocurrent™ is gentler and specifically better suited for sensitive skin.

Is ZIIP Halo better than NuFACE?

In my opinion having both microcurrent and nanocurrent which targets more signs of aging than just microcurrent alone makes ZIIP Halo better than NuFace.
