Elle Duncan, who is known for sitting behind the SportsCenter desk, is getting out in the world to the tallest building in Taiwan as part of a multi-year deal with Netflix.
Duncan left ESPN earlier this week, with an emotional send off, and is joining the streamer as an on-air host across Netflix Sports and its growing list of live events.
Her first duty at Netflix will be to host Skyscraper Live in early 2026. The special will see free solo climber Alex Honnold attempt to scale Taipei 101.
It’s marks the streamer’s first deal with an on-air anchor.
The NFL expert is also expected to work across Netflix’s burgeoning sports portfolio as it ramps up its moves into football and other sports.
Duncan joined SportsCenter in 2016 and also hosted College GameDay Women’s Basketball and WNBA Countdown as well as The Elle Duncan Show on YouTube. Before that she worked at the New England Sports Network (NESN), where she spent two years as an anchor, having previously worked in Georgia, where she was a sideline reporter for the Atlanta Hawks.
Duncan said, “Joining Netflix feels like being invited to an already legendary party and somehow getting handed the aux cord. For a lifelong utility player, a multi-sport assignment is a full-circle moment, and being trusted with something this one-of-a-kind feels incredibly special and surreal. I’m bringing boundless energy, storytelling, and bad puns no one asked for but will be subjected to anyway. Also, I was told this fast-tracks my kids to meeting the K-Pop Demon Hunters, soooo…win-win.”
Gabe Spitzer, VP, Sports, Netflix, added, “Elle Duncan’s proven ability to seamlessly move between hard-hitting sports analysis and warm, personality-driven cultural hosting makes her a perfect fit at Netflix. She immediately adds credibility and familiar star power to our global programming slate.”
