Olivia Wilde is addressing the online scrutiny on her looks after online trolls compared her recent red carpet appearance to The Lord of the Rings’ character, Gollum.
The actress stepped out at the San Francisco International Film Festival with light smoky eye makeup and fish eye lens, which made her eyes look larger than usual and it sparked concern online with the video garnering over 10 million views.
Wilde on Saturday took to her Instagram account to address the look after her brother called her “a resurrected corpse.”
Reposting her brother’s video, she captioned, “Leave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s***.”
The video began with Wilde being asked by her younger sibling, Charlie Cockburn, “Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumors that you’re a resurrected corpse?”
Wilde, who was relaxing outdoors at night while wrapped in a blanket, sporting a grey hoodie and dark jacket, giggled over her brother’s taunt.
She then explained in the video, “I don’t know why I was so close to the camera; I didn’t have to be.”
”Do you have any more questions?” she asked Cockburn, who can be heard laughing behind the camera.
”I’m not dead,” Wilde declared.
After the snippet of her interview went viral, some viewers commented on her slimmed-down look with speculations ranging from weight-loss methods to cosmetic procedures. But, some expressed their concerns about the actress’ health.
