    • Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards named Revival in Charleston the best fine dining restaurant in the United States.
    • The restaurant reimagines Lowcountry classics with modern flair, serving dishes like she-crab soup, charred okra, and perloo inside The Vendue hotel.
    • Other top-ranked fine dining spots include restaurants in Santa Fe, Raleigh, Nashville, Chicago, New York City, and Las Vegas.

Tripadvisor, the world’s largest platform for travel reviews and recommendations, takes its users’ words of wisdom seriously. So, each year, when it comes time to award the winners of their Travelers’ Choice Awards for Best of the Best Restaurants, travelers and restaurant fanatics take note.

Tripadvisor’s 2025 restaurant honors are divided into eight subcategories, ranging from the best spots for fine dining to the most noteworthy pet-friendly establishments. This year, Charleston’s Revival snagged the top spot as the best fine dining restaurant in the United States.

Located within The Vendue, Charleston’s Art Hotel, beloved Southern dishes get a modern, creative twist at Revoval. The menu plays on Lowcountry classics with dishes like charred okra, she-crab soup, sourdough bread served alongside sorghum butter, and perloo, a traditional one-pot meal popular in South Carolina and Georgia. Chef Forrest Parker, who once served as the restaurant’s executive chef, helped establish the overall tone of Revival and sought to create a menu that playfully reinterpreted some of Charleston’s most iconic dishes.

“Our inspiration comes from the same place it always has: the people and the culture of the Lowcountry,” says Carley Ford, the general manager of The Vendue. “Our culinary team works to tell that story through seasonal ingredients and thoughtful presentation, ensuring every dish feels both rooted and refreshed.”

This November, Revival will celebrate that rich evolution with a special “Revival Through Time” dinner. Five signature courses will be prepared by the restaurant’s past chefs, including Parker, Simon Glenn, and Jason Rasch.

“Revival is a celebration of Charleston,” Ford says. “Its flavors, its stories, and its spirit of hospitality. We want guests to feel that sense of place in every bite and every interaction. When they leave, our hope is that they carry with them not just the memory of an incredible meal, but a deeper appreciation for the city and the people who make it so special.”

Other spots that made it to the top 10 in the fine dining category include Sazón in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern in Raleigh, North Carolina; Bourbon Steak in Nashville, Tennessee; La Grande Boucherie, in Chicago, Illinois; Brenner’s on the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas; Primal Steakhouse in Las Vegas, Nevada; Club A Steakhouse and Gallaghers Steakhouse in New York City, New York; and Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
