LPG Prices Hiked By Up To Rs 31 In March 2026; 14.2 Kg Cylinder Rates Remain Unchanged

Oil marketing companies have raised the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 28 to Rs 31 across major metro cities for March 2026, marking the second consecutive monthly hike. However, the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged.

Commercial LPG Prices Increased Across Metro Cities

The latest revision, effective March 1, 2026, impacts commercial users across Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.

In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 28 to Rs 1,768.5, compared to Rs 1,740.5 in February. Kolkata witnessed the sharpest rise among metros, with rates climbing Rs 31 to Rs 1,875.5 per cylinder from Rs 1,844.5 previously.

Mumbai also saw a notable hike. The 19 kg cylinder will now cost Rs 1,720.5, up Rs 28.5 from Rs 1,692 last month. In Chennai, prices have been raised by Rs 29.5 to Rs 1,929 per cylinder, compared to Rs 1,899.5 in February.

This follows last month’s increase of Rs 48 to Rs 50 in commercial LPG cylinder prices across these cities.

Domestic 14.2 Kg Cylinder Rates Remain Steady

In contrast to commercial cylinders, the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders have remained unchanged since April 8, 2025.

In April last year, the government had increased the rates by Rs 50 for all 14.2 kg cylinders, covering both beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and regular consumers. Since that revision, no further changes have been announced.

For March 2026, domestic LPG prices stand at Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 879 in Kolkata, Rs 852.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 868.50 in Chennai.

LPG prices in India are revised monthly by state-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, based on international benchmarks and other market factors.
