Demi Lovato appeared to be entering one of the happiest phases of her life as she shared how her new album reflected her calm and joyful state of mind.

The 33-year-old singer, who released her latest album It’s Not That Deep in October, said her recent work represented a lighter chapter both personally and professionally.

She told E! News, “I’m in a really great place in my life, and I’m ready to celebrate that with my music.”

The Cool Summer hitmaker explained that her songs now carried a more cheerful tone, showing how far she had come from the struggles of her past.

Lovato, who tied the knot with fellow musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes earlier this year in California, shared that she was now looking forward to spending the holidays with her family.

“The traditions that I’m looking forward to are just getting together with the family.

We do bake sugar cookies and decorate them the night before Christmas, so Christmas Eve, and I’m looking forward to doing that,” the singer said.

In a conversation with PAPER magazine, the Let it Go singer also reflected on how married life changed her music.

“I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads. The tone of my life is lighter,” she said, adding that her new album mirrored her present emotions.

However, Demi noted that her creative process also evolved. “I just got married. It was a learning curve for me to take what I’ve always known about music and write what’s new to me.

The tone of my life is lighter, and I wanted a project that reflected that.”
