Charli xcx, George Daniel Marry for Second Time in Sicily Wedding: Photos

Charli xcx and George Daniel celebrated their love with a second wedding!

The Brat hitmaker, 33, (née Charlotte Emma Aitchison) and The 1975 drummer, 35, said “I do” for the second time during a wedding that took place in Sicily, Italy, on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Daniel’s bandmate Matty Healy was among those in attendance, as was Healy’s mother, Denise Welch.

Ahead of the nuptials, the “365” singer shared a glimpse into their pre-wedding festivities on Instagram with friends that included Healy’s fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel, influencer and entrepreneur Devon Lee Carlson and others.

Charli and the group could be seen exploring the streets of Sicily, admiring artwork and having drinks on a night out. She even included a video of her and Daniel in an ornate ballroom dancing together and posing with her in his lap.

The couple’s second wedding comes nearly two months after they exchanged vows during a private ceremony at Hackney Town Hall in London on July 19. Around 20 people, including Charli’s parents and Daniel’s bandmates (minus frontman Healy) were present at the more intimate ceremony, according to sources.

To mark the occasion, Charli wore an off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown. She paired the dress with a dramatic veil and a pair of black sunglasses. Meanwhile, Daniel wore a dark suit with an off-white undershirt.

“Charli and George wanted the ceremony to feel special and personal, but not over-the-top. They have been planning this for months and were so excited to finally say ‘I do’ even if it was low-key. They danced all night. They have such playful energy as a couple. It was the most fun celebration,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time.

The source also teased the pair’s second nuptials, saying, “the party’s just getting started,” and that a “larger celebration” was to come. “They’ve always dreamed of a big party in Italy. Somewhere beautiful and private, where all their friends can let loose. It will be star-studded. This was always the plan.”

Charli and Daniel got engaged in November 2023, after the “Boom Clap” singer shared a cheeky Instagram announcing the couple’s milestone. She shared photos of herself and the drummer embracing and a tray of tea featuring a box with an engagement ring, seemingly revealing how the producer proposed.

She shared a confirmation in the caption, adding, “charli xcx and george daniel f—— for life!!!”

The British musicians first connected in 2021 while working on the single “Spinning.” The one-off track featured Charli XCX, The 1975 and No Rome, and was co-produced by the Filipino singer, Healy and Daniel. 

While it’s unclear when the couple’s creative partnership turned romantic, the “Unlock It” singer confirmed they were dating in a May 2022 Instagram showing photos of the two vacationing together. That came several months after Daniel supported Charli at her Saturday Night Live performance in March. 

After the pair took their relationship public, Charli opened up about their romance and future during an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald in February 2023, saying, “I want to be wifed up.”

“I want to have a big fat belly with a baby in it. I don’t really want to live in the countryside, that’s the only lie in that because I love cities,” she continued. “But yeah, I’m just so in love right now and I think I’d be a really hot mum.”
