    IDFC First Bank to give choice of Rupay, Mastercard in Indigo co-branded card

    MUMBAI: IndiGo and IDFC FIRST Bank have launched a co-branded credit card that will be available on both Mastercard and RuPay networks, offering customers wider acceptance and flexibility, including the ability to make UPI payments through RuPay.The IndiGo IDFC FIRST Credit Card is aimed at frequent travelers and comes with accelerated rewards on IndiGo bookings and milestone spending. Cardholders can earn up to 22 IndiGo BluChips for every Rs 100 spent on flight bookings made through IndiGo’s website or app. They can also accumulate up to 25,000 BluChips annually on crossing key spend thresholds, apart from enjoying lifestyle benefits such as travel insurance, trip cancellation cover and a low forex markup of 1.49%.Customers joining the program will receive 5,000 BluChips and a complimentary 6E Eats meal voucher, along with 3,000 additional BluChips on spends of Rs 1 lakh within 90 days. Those spending Rs 12 lakh annually can earn as many as 60,000 BluChips plus bonus vouchers of 25,000 BluChips, enough to redeem multiple flights.The product also features an FD-backed variant, allowing individuals with limited or no credit history to apply, in line with the bank’s financial inclusion strategy. Cardholders will earn IndiGo BluChips not just on flight bookings but also on everyday purchases, adding to the airline’s loyalty program.IndiGo said the partnership will strengthen its BluChip loyalty offering and make rewards more accessible to customers. IDFC FIRST Bank said the launch reflected its customer-first approach by providing a premium yet inclusive product. Mastercard and NPCI highlighted the card’s dual-network and UPI-enabled features, which they said enhance convenience and global acceptance.
