Former Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay has revealed that her husband, Brock Davies, cheated on her when they were expecting their baby.
The 40-year-old reality star, who had her only child with Davies in 2021, made the confession in her new memoir, My Good Side, which comes out July 22. In one excerpt of the book, shared by Glamour, Shay recalled how her husband told her that he’d been unfaithful.
“Brock said that with all of the fake news being published, he was afraid that something that actually was true might surface, and it was best that I heard it directly from him,” she wrote. “My whole body froze, and I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer.”
She confessed that she previously “spent so much time fighting off [her] anxiety” about her relationship, after Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval notably cheated on Ariana Madix with their co-star, Raquel Leviss, in 2023.
“As I sat there, feeling completely sick to my stomach, he admitted that—at the time—he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else,” she wrote about Davies, who started dating in 2019. “I use the word ‘chose’ because it was very much a conscious decision. No one twisted his arm or dragged him into bed.”
She continued to describe how her world “was officially shattered into pieces” when she learned Davies cheats, and she “wasn’t sure [she] could put” it “back together.” She also said ther was a “deep fur bubbling inside” her at the time, which she felt like she couldn’t express around her child.
“If I screamed, I could wake up my daughter. Our daughter. His baby, whom I’d been carrying while he was in bed with another woman,” she wrote. “I stood up and started pacing back and forth, fuming, and feeling like I might throw up.”
However, Shay confessed that she was “unable to contain” her anger, so she slapped her husband and threw a Rubik’s cube toward him, which he avoided.
According to Shay, Davies had an affair with “someone he had known since” before he met his now-wife. After running into the unnamed woman at the gym, the pair reconnected and “began a brief affair.”
And the same night that Davies confessed to cheating, he gave his wife a “that he’d written a year after the affair ended.” Shay then questioned why he told her about the affair at that point.
“Apparently, he had compartmentalized his indiscretion (convenient, I know), but while we were out at a local festival in San Diego one night, he ran into some old friends who reminded him of that time in his life, and everything that he’d done came rushing back,” she wrote. “He said he realized he was throwing his second chance at a family away by stepping out and swore to himself that he would never betray me again.”
Shay also noted that the letter “included more specifics” than she wanted to hear, including how “many times” he’d slept with this woman and where. He also told her the relationship “was purely physical, never emotional, and he always used protection.”
