SHARJAH: The iconic and historical Sharjah Cricket Stadium has once again come to life as cricket legends and superstars gather to relive the magic of Pakistan’s famous tape ball cricket.

Former Pakistan’s captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have returned to action, alongside Sri Lankan legend Tilakaratne Dilshan, who is ready to showcase his skills in this thrilling format.

Speaking to Geo News, Inzamam-ul-Haq said, “every cricketer in Pakistan starts with tape ball cricket. This isn’t something unusual; it’s a step to discover new talent and reignite the passion for the game.”

Shahid Afridi expressed his excitement, saying, “I started my career with tape ball cricket, and playing it again at the historic Sharjah Stadium is a nostalgic and incredible experience.”

Tillakaratne Dilshan excitedly added, “This new tape ball format has the potential to go global, offering a platform where legends can share the field with young talent.”

Other cricketing stars, including Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir, Saeed Ajmal, Imran Nazir, Sharjeel Khan and Umar Akmal have also taken to the field, bringing excitement and energy to Sharjah’s iconic grounds.

Sharjah is once again hosting a spectacular cricketing event, blending nostalgia with the promise of fresh talent, the event organizer stated.
